Succeed's Senior Management Team
Curt Shaw, MS
President
Curt Shaw is the CEO and founder and has over 35 years of experience in key management positions with fortune 500 organizations and insurers, and founded Succeed and a successful consulting business. Curt is a retired Board Certified Industrial Hygienist and Safety Professional of 30 years, and an Environmental Engineer with an industry-wide reputation as an expert on risk mitigation.
Curt has held key risk management positions with Fortune 500 organizations and insurance carriers, finally branching out on his own in 1996 to start Succeed Safety and Health Services, Inc. as a consulting business. In the course of his career, Curt developed a national reputation among insurers and employers for turning around organizations with poor loss records and substantially reducing their insurance and loss related expenses.
As part of his consulting business, Curt started developing software tools to increase his efficiency. He soon realized that there was a market for the tools and in 2006 he established Succeed to separate development and marketing of the software products from the services products.
Curt retains the position of President & CEO and actively participates in all aspects of the business, especially in the sales process. Curt remains as the visionary behind the product.
Jason Hitz
Vice President, Sales
An Oregon resident, Hitz attended Portland State University, and graduated from the School of Business with a general management degree and a minor in philosophy in 2003. In 2005 he graduated again from the School of Business, focusing this time on advertising, Human Resources and marketing. He started in the risk management industry working for a nationwide provider of premium audit, loss control, and risk improvement services to the commercial insurance industry.
Valerie Anderson
VP Dental Program Director
Ms. Anderson has worked over 14 years as a professional assistant and also as a manager in different firms. In the last 5 years, she has worked on management software and trained users how to use the software. She also managed beta testing and software releases, and she also consulted on best practices. Ms. Anderson provided content and conducted user meetings around the state of Oregon.
Jeff Dalessandro
Executive Vice President, Sales, Marketing, and Services
Jeff is the Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Client Services at Succeed. Prior to joining SUCCEED, Jeff has headed Business Development, Sales and Marketing positions with Travelers Insurance Company- Constitution State Services LLC, Crawford & Company- Broadspire, ACE USA- ESIS, responsible for marketing claims and risk management services for all lines of coverage to large/national insured and self-insured accounts.
James C. Thomas Jr.
VP of Code Development
James Thomas is Succeed's director of software services. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Washington State University in Computer Science with a minor in Management Information Systems. James has been programming in C and C++ since 1996 and works with Java, JavaScript, Visual Basic, Visual Basic .NET, C#, ASP .NET and ASP .NET 2.0. He also has extensive experience with web technologies, including HTML, DHMTL, CSS, AJAX, and DOM, as well as database management with advanced database technologies.
Alan Inkley
Director of Risk Management
Alan Inkley has 18 years of experience in key management positions in publishing, commercial finance, and chemical distribution. Alan has expertise in ISO quality systems and Hazmat environments. He received his corporate management training at GE University in Crotonville, NY, and has expertise in Six Sigma quality systems.
Jade Brainard
VP of Account Services
Jade Brainard is Succeed's Assistant Vice President of Sales, assisting with the development and training of new and existing clients with the various software programs. She has several years experience in the customer service environment.
Annie Gerow
Director of Web Marketing
Annie Gerow attended University of Mary Washington, Cabrillo College, and University of California at Santa Cruz. She graduated with honors from the latter with a degree in Film and Digital Media in 2006. Annie leads the marketing and graphics sector of Succeed, and designs the look of the Risk Management Center, websites and other marketing and promotional material. She also assists clients by developing custom, branded marketing materials for them to use in marketing efforts.
Ron Adams
Controller
Ron is the Controller for Succeed and has 18 years experience in accounting with bachelors in accounting and a masters degree in business administration. He served as the finance manager of a national snack food company (King Henry’s) based out of Valencia, Ca. He also serviced as the human resources manager. Prior to King Henry’s Ron was the owner of a transportation company for nine years and a department manager at American Clearing Service which processed coupon and rebate Redemption for companies such as Fred Meyers, Kroger’s, Safeway, Coca Cola, Pepsi, Blue Mountain Dog food, Proctor and Gamble.
Shay Mooster
Director of Certificate Management
Shay Mooster is Director of Certificate Management for Succeed Management Solutions. Shay is a graduate of the University of Oregon and has done graduate work at Oregon State University as well. She brings a strong attention to detail and a propensity for organization to the company. As Director of Certificate Management, she oversees the smooth functioning of the Insurance Certificate tracking services that Succeed provides, ensuring 100% client satisfaction and 100% accuracy that defaults are properly set in accordance with the client’s specifications. She ensured that data entry is accurately transferred from the Certificate of Insurance provided by the client or client’s producer to COI TrackTM.
Jessica Sandvold
VP of Account Services
Jessica Sandvold is the Client Services Representative for Succeed. She assists clients with web-based training, customer service calls, and introducing new clients and existing clients to all of the various software programs. She also assists with maintaining schedules and deadlines for the other Succeed employees. She graduated in 2011 with a B.A. degree in Business with a minor in Marketing. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Public Administration.
Chris Zumwalt
Senior Software Developer
Chris Zumwalt is Succeed’s Senior Software Developer. He has twelve years of experience in software development. Before joining Succeed, Chris worked at University Medical Group at OHSU for eight years. He received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Western Oregon University.
Matthew Cox
Software Developer II
Matthew Cox is a Software engineer with over one year of experience as a .NET developer.
He was previously employed as a on-site IT Technician for over 3 years, he has multiple skill sets at both the hardware and software levels.
He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science with a minor in Spanish Language.
Tim Brenner
Software Developer II
Tim is a Software Developer II for Succeed Management Solutions. He is a developer on Succeed’s Risk Management Center software, which includes adding new functionality as well as updating and improving existing functionality. Tim has six years of experience in the technology industry, 3 of which are related directly to application/software development. He graduated from Portland State University with a B.S. in Computer Science. Tim also has work experience in corporate training, sales, multimedia development, graphic design, technical writing, business analysis and tech support.
Moses Stickney
Software Developer
Moses Stickney is a programmer for Succeed Management Solutions. Moses works with other programmers and employees to aid in the development of the software solutions offered by Succeed Management Solutions. Moses Stickney is a recent graduate of Washington State University, Vancouver with a BS in Computer Science. While in school he spent some time working for the United States Geological Survey developing software to facilitate transfer of information between Geological sensors and data storage.
